SUSD’s Spring Showcase Magazine Is Now Online; Highlights Innovation

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (April 30, 2024) – Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) proudly announces the release of its highly anticipated Spring edition of Showcase magazine.  Bursting with stories of innovation, academic excellence, and community engagement, this edition reaffirms SUSD's commitment to provide a world-class, future-focused education for its students.

Themed around the central idea of #SUSDInnovates, this edition of Showcase delves into the dynamic intersection of education and technology, with a special focus on artificial intelligence and its potential transformative impact on teaching and learning strategies.

Among the featured articles is an insightful piece on the new SUSD Innovation StartUp Grant program, spotlighting Tonalea Middle School, one of the first grant recipients.  Discover how these grants are catalyzing innovative programs, such as the engaging infusion of drones into a coding class, enriching students' learning experiences and nurturing their passion for STEM (science, technology, engineering and math).

In addition to embracing cutting-edge technology, SUSD remains steadfast in its commitment to foster wellness within the community.  Learn about the district's new collaboration with the Scottsdale Blue Zones Project and its positive implications for the health and well-being of students, staff, and families alike.

Celebrating the remarkable talents of our students, the magazine highlights the recent Scottsdale Family ArtsFest, where young artists’ creativity and passion for the arts was on display.  Moreover, readers will be captivated by the story of Jackson Washburn, a junior at Chaparral High School, whose artistic prowess was tapped to create the district's new coloring book, Grow with sUSd.  Distributed at elementary schools to newly enrolling families and at other community events, the coloring book depicts the educational journey of an SUSD learner, from early childhood to graduation.

"We are thrilled to present the Spring edition of Showcase magazine, a testament to another successful year of dedicated staff inspiring great academic achievements by our students," said Kristine Harrington, Director of Communications and Marketing for SUSD.  "We invite our community to dive into these pages and be equally inspired by the many ways #SUSDInnovates."
